internet filters for children
Is it necessary to configure a server? How can I do?
We currently have 2 computers in our home that are networked to share two printers and can share files between them. We are about to get 3 more PCs, bringing the total to 5 (to include children in our house). I wonder if would be interested in putting a server on a network rather than just power? Please someone can give me the pros and cons of both? What exactly is a server to do, and what are its advantages? I would be able to share printers between all computers and share files. The idea is that anyone can sit in any computer and access your files. All have their own login and password. I also have a team that only admin has access to parental controls for filter Internet Web sites to prevent inappropriate to be viewed on our network. (Or is just the login manager?) If possible, how can I make the establishment of this? Thanks for your help
My roommates and I thought it was a good idea to create a file server. Pros: Management Centralized data (All data can be in your server PC has to keep track of files). Always-On. Simultaneous mixed content streaming to networked PCs all the disadvantages: the cost of additional hardware. It helped me a lot and is a beautiful thing to have. Windows Home Server is likely to lie well.
